In Mönsterås there are a number of nature and culture trails that offer fantastic nature experiences and exciting history. Maps of the different trails are supplied by the Tourist Bureau.

The five nature trails are located in Hammarglo/Källarholmen, Forsa/Elmhult, Svartö, Långnäs and Tålebo/Nyebo and all offer many great experiences. The trails are marked out with blue painted posts. The Forsa-Elmhult stretch is 4.2 km and is also suitable for horse-riding. Along the way there are many remains from the bronze and stone ages. Please Note! The bridge at Lillån is in disrepair at present, so the trail is diverted. Långnäs nature trail is 11 km long, meandering through several villages with lots to see, such as a monastery ruin, a burial field, a stone-arch bridge and a catch pit.The nature trail on Svartö (5 km) goes through the village of Svartö, dating back to the 14th Century. The village was once the land base for the staff who manned Dämmans Fyr (lighthouse). The Tålebo-Nyebo stretch is surrounded by a cultural landscape that still bears resemblance to the agricultural landscape of the early 1800s. You wander past small irregular fields, meadows, piled up rocks, pollarded trees, paddocks and stone walls – just like in old times. This is an 11 km stretch. The Hammarglo-Köllarholmen stretch is 2 km. You start out from Hammarglo, which was once “Stranda Härad’s biggest farming village” and is mentioned in writings from as early as the 14th Century. A footbridge takes you out to Källarholmen, an exciting place with remains from medieval buildings that inspire your imagination. Sign and Parking seen from the road.
